Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Maude (Ricketts) Nicholas announces her passing. Dorothy passed peacefully away at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home, Corner Brook, NL on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at the age of 87 years.

Dorothy is predeceased by her first husband - Leslie Ricketts; second husband - Robert Nicholas; daughters - Ivy Ricketts and Judy Ricketts; grandchildren - James Davis and Jody Davis; parents - Thomas & Jane Jacobs and siblings - Ida Jacobs, Susie Rice, Effie Randell and Leslie Jacobs.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are her children - James Ricketts (Dorothy), Pasadena, NL, Marie Ledoux (Robert), Hubbardston, Massachuettes, USA, Paul Ricketts (Sharon), Corner Brook, NL, Gary Ricketts (Brada), Pollard's Point, NL and Lillian Davis, Fort McMurray, AB; grandchildren - Laura Ricketts, Rodney Ricketts, Tracy Ricketts, Nicole Ledoux, Rebecca Ledoux, Joey Ledoux, Angela Ricketts, Byron Jones, Mandy Ricketts Wall, Teya Ricketts and Jenna Ricketts; 14 great grandchildren and sister - Cicely Small (Roy) as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Family Visitation will take place at Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.

The Rt. Reverend John Organ conducted the Funeral Service at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Westport, NL on Monday, February 17th, 2020 at 2:00PM. Interment followed at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Westport, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Westport, NL.

“She will forever be remembered for the kind, gentle soul she was, by all who came to know her.”

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.

Jim and all of Dots family, sorry to learn of her passing. I hadn’t seen her for many, many years but I remember her quite well when growing up. I visited them often and was always welcome there. She and Les were always two of the kindest people you could find anywhere. May she Rest In Peace.

So sorry for your loss. Aunt Dot was an amazing lady who I loved dearly.. The last time I saw anything Dot was in 2011. I wish I was home to give you all a big hug.. sending hugs to you all.

Sorry for your loss!! Dot was a wonderful lady and will be missed by all!!
I spent a lot of time with Dot, I would go there to smoke on a sly and she would never tell on me.. bless her heart..
