Obituary for Eugene Ropson

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Eugene Ropson announces his passing. Eugene passed away from the Copper Crescent Long Term Care Facility, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, January 14th, 2021 at the age of 82 years.

Predeceased by his parents - William & Lucy Ropson; granddaughter - Jeanette Urquhart; parents-in-law - Stanley & Dulcie Newman and brother - Lebert Ropson.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories is his wife of 53 years - Marjorie (Newman) Ropson, Baie Verte, NL; children - Neil Ropson (Martina), Harrow, ON, Perry Ropson, Ottawa, ON, Thomas Ropson, Corner Brook, NL and Vanessa Jacobs (Jason), Westport, NL; grandchildren - Mackenzie, Makayla, Tamara (Brittany) and Karrissa; great-grandson - Dominic; siblings - Edna Ford (Harvey), Evelyn Johnson (Guy), Triffina Gale (Ned) and Patricia Adams (Floyd); siblings-in-law - Virtue Randell, Wilfred Newman (Edith) and Merium Hiscock as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

We would like to extend a heart full of thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, as well as to our home care workers - Gena Mitchell, Susan Dyer and April Wells for their loving care.

Public Visitation took place at Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, January 16th, 2021 from 7:00-9:00PM, following specific guidelines related to the global pandemic and associated restrictions.

Reverend George Critchell conducted a Funeral Service for Family and Friends at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, January 17th, 2021 at 11:00AM. Interment followed at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to assist the family.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
