Obituary

It is with immense sorrow that the family of the late George Francis Lewis announces his sudden passing. George passed away at his family home in Fleur de Lys, NL on Sunday, June 21st, 2020 at the age of 75 years.

Predeceased by his parents - William & Elizabeth Lewis; parents-in-law - Stephen & Lucy Shelley; siblings - Donald Lewis, Jack Lewis (Agnes), Lucy Lewis (Joseph), Jenny Dollimont (Howard), Dennis Lewis, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Noftall and Mary Josephine Mills (Ambrose); siblings-in-law - Angela Drover (Patrick), Gerald Shelley, Stephen Shelley, Jack Traverse, Margaret Shelley, Carrie Lewis and Ronald Dempsey.

Left with a lifetime of wonderful memories is his wife of 50 years - Elizabeth Lewis; children - Craig Lewis, Shelley Lewis, all of Fleur de Lys, NL and Shannon Lewis (Nadine), Coachman’s Cove, NL; grandchildren - Dennis Lewis (Jenna), Michael Lewis, Deanna Shea (Daniel), Sarah Shea (Alex), DJ Shea (Brianna), Cole Lewis and Jake Lewis; great-grandchildren - Arabella and Ronnie; siblings - Bridget Traverse (Donald), Bill Lewis (Linda), Frank Lewis (Mary), Florence Dempsey (Art), Doreen Shea (Jim) and Edna Troy (Felix); aunt - Julie Quigley; siblings-in-law - Josephine Traverse, Thomas Shelley (Cindy), William Shelley, James Shelley (Mary Ann), Patrick Shelley (Sheila), Levetta Lewis, Michael Noftall, Minnie Shelley, Vickie Lewis and Philomena Shelley as well as a large circles of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation. Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a Private Family Funeral Service.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in George's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1037 Topsail Rd, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 5E9

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.

To Liz and family
So sorry to hear of George’s passing. I have many great memories of our time together in the seal tanning course. He was a very gentle soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My deepest condolences to you all
