Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Gregory Haas announces his passing. Gregory passed peacefully away at his family home in Brent's Cove, NL on Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 with his family at his side. Gregory was 87 years of age.

Predeceased by his parents - James & Ethel Haas; son - Terry Haas; parents-in-law - James & Winnifred Corbett; siblings - Mary Ann Seymour (Ambrose), Loretta Haas, Elizabeth Sullivan (Claude), Bridget Sullivan (James), Lawrence Haas (Alma), Michael Haas, Patrick Haas and James Haas; siblings-in-law - Mary Miller (Matt), Philomena Hedderson, Margaret Sullivan (Jeremiah), Theresa Sullivan (Francis), Jack Corbett (Margaret), Edward Corbett (Bernice), James Sullivan, Leonard Clance and Kay Higgins.

Left with many fond and loving memories is his wife of 60 years - Jane Haas; children - Loretta Haas (Maurice), Randy Haas (Wavey), Marlene Skinner (Jerome), Connie Gartland (Steve), Gregory Haas (Brenda), Garry Haas (Hilda) and Terry Haas (Helena); grandchildren - Hilary, Brian, Brent, Cody, Jasmine, Taylor, Josh, Madison and Tell; great-grandchildren – Emma, Colin, Olivia, Gregory and Richard; siblings - Alice Sullivan, Gordon Haas (Rita) and Kevin Haas; siblings-in-law - Joanna Clance, Annie Haas, Madeline Haas and Ron Hedderson as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Special thanks extended to the La Scie and Baie Verte paramedics and the doctors and nurses of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care for their loving care of our Dad in his final days.

Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation. Father Camillus Ekedobe will conduct a Private Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Brent's Cove, NL for immediate family. Interment will take place at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brent's Cove, NL.

We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Gregory's memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Haas family.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gregory's memory to The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, 211-31 Peet Street, St. John's, NL A1B 3W8.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.

Aunt Jane and family we are saddened to hear of the loss of Uncle Greg. We have fond memories of him from our summer visits to Brent’s Cove. We are thinking of all of you and know that all the memories you have in your hearts will comfort you in the days ahead. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to all of you with love. To Jane and Family, so sad to learn of Greg’s passing. I have a lot of memories of Greg growing up and on visits back home. I have always considered him a gentle soul! May your memories guide you through this difficult time. RIP Greg!
