Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Jerry Ivan Ward announces his tragic passing. Jerry passed away suddenly in Fort McMurray, Alberta on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 at the age of 57 years.

Jerry is predeceased by his father - James Ward; parents-in-law - Edgar & Bessie Dyer; and brother-in-law - Bruce Dyer.

Left to cherish a lifetime of incredible memories is his wife of 31 years and best friend - Evelyn Ward, La Scie, NL; son - Justin Ward (Christa), Fort McMurray, AB; his grand puppies – Tessa , Ellie and Paisley who he adored; his loving mother - Bernice Ward-Green (Donn); his only brother - Junior Ward (Lori), they hunted, fished and raised their families together, all of La Scie, NL; siblings-in-law - Bonnie May (Melvin), Brian Dyer (Marilyn), Minnie Morey (Roger), Lewis Dyer (Pauline) and nieces and nephews - Julian Ward (Dana), Sarah Ward, Bradley May, Terri-Lynn May, Stephen Dyer, Shane Dyer, Kayla Domalain (Michael), Jenny Kelly and Tanya Dyer (Jamie), a special niece and huge part of his life, her two children Jordan and Jena-Lee King who he treated as if they were his own, as well as a large circle of extended family and innumerable friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation or Funeral Service. Captain Kay Barnes conducted the Private Family Funeral Service and interment at The Salvation Army Cemetery, La Scie, NL.

We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Jerry's memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Ward family.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Jerry's memory to The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL.

"I have seen my last tomorrow, I'm holding my last breath - goodbye, sweet world of sorrow, my new life begins with death! I am standing on the mountain, I can hear the angels songs, I am reaching over Jordan, take my hand, Lord lead me home!"

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.

Kay and I was so saddened to hear of Jerrys passing. May God strengthen and comfort you in this very difficult time. Cherish your memories.
God will make you strong as you are supported by friends and family. Jerry and I had hundreds of chats at the stadium as he supported our recreation programs. Thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless.

We are just seeing Jerry's obituary and like others shocked and saddened to see it. We remember him as one of our young people while in LaScie. While your hearts are broken, remember the one who can mend it, in His time in His way. May you experience the healing power of Jesus and his special grace for you at this time.
