Madeline Margaret  Traverse
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Madeline Margaret Traverse announces her sudden passing. Madeline passed away from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, March 12th, 2018 at the age of 78 years.

Predeceased by her husband – Clarence Traverse; daughter – Clotilda; parents – Thomas & Stella Shea; parents-in-law – William & Kathleen Traverse; sister – Floss Traverse (Bill); siblings-in-law – Mary Traverse, Jack Traverse, Edward Traverse, Elias Downey, Liz Ann Shea & Elizabeth Sampson.

Left with fond and loving memories are her children – Gerard Traverse (Shirley), Ruby Giles (Henry), Mary Hurley (Melvin), Victoria Quigley (Patrick), Frazer Traverse, Patrick Traverse (Beverly) & Melinda Duck (Jodey); 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings – Peter Shea, Mary Ann Downey, Ruby Cousins (John), Thomas Shea (Helena), Joseph Shea (Lorraine), Gerald Shea, Edna Bellivcau (Raymond), Carmel Alyward (Loyola) & Lucy Tobin (Patrick); siblings-in-law – Donald Traverse (Bridget), Josephine Traverse & Betty Traverse; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Father Thomas Duffenais conducted the Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Fleur de Lys, NL on Monday, March 19th, 2018. Interment followed at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fleur de Lys, NL.

Pallbearers were Pat Traverse, Dennis Quigley, Henry Giles, Jordan Quigley, Peter Shea and Gerald Shea. Crossbearer was Ruby Giles.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Madeline's memory to the Canadian Caner Society, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John's, NL, A1B 3R9.
