Obituary for Retta May Elliott

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Retta May Elliott announces her sudden passing. Retta slipped away peacefully at her family home in Burlington, NL on Friday, November 20th, 2020 at the age of 85 years.

Retta is predeceased by her husband – Kenneth Elliott; parents – Sidney and Florence Young; brother – Francis; infant sister – Marion; siblings-in-law – Allan Bowers, William Keough, Elmore Mills, Allan Kelley, Phyllis Young, Hazel Butt (Eugene), Max Snelgrove, Chesley Elliott (Olive), Phyllis Thistle (Roy), Ross Elliott, Wilbert Elliott, and Ernie Elliott.

Left with fond and loving memories are her sons – David (Nola), Lacombe, AB, Bryan (Tamara), Burlington, NL, Stephen (Andrea), Cobble Hill, BC, and Shawn (Heather), Fort McMurray, AB; grandchildren – Melanie Whalen (Marc), Joshua Elliott (Michelle), Benjamin Elliott, Sydney Elliott, Natasha Young (Eric), Trevor Elliott (Jasmine), and Luke Elliott (Hope); great-grandchildren – William, Matthew, and Gracie Whalen; Avery and Camryn Elliott; Lily Wright; siblings – Evelyn Bowers, Thelma Keough, Willis Young (Audrey), Roger Young (Velma), Stewart Young (Bernice), and Dulcie Kelley; siblings-in-law – Myrtle Elliott, Juanita Elliott, and Vida Elliott; special life-long friend – Lillian Goudie; home support workers – Kimberly Burton, Janette Budgell, and Deanna Robinson; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation took place at Riverside United Church, Burlington, NL on Monday, November 23rd, 2020 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM following specific guidelines related to the global pandemic and associated restrictions.

Mrs. Barbara Noble conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at Riverside United Church, Burlington, NL on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020. Interment followed at Riverside United Cemetery, Burlington, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Retta's memory to the Riverside United Cemetery Fund, Burlington, NL.
