Rodman Allan  Shiner
It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Rodman Allan Shiner announces his passing. Rodman was ushered into the presence of the Lord at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, NL on Monday, November 11th, 2019 at the age of 72 years.

Predeceased by his parents - Clifford & Greta Shiner; daughter - Betty Shiner; grandparents - Horace & Susie Shiner; parents-in-law - David & Eileen Young; brother - Cyril Shiner (Ivy); nephew – Boyd Shiner; step-mother – Blanche Shiner and siblings-in-law – George & Stewart Young, Albert Young (Melita), Laura Young and Lydia Young.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories is his wife of 50 years - Helen Shiner, Smith’s Harbour, NL; children - Diane Thomas (Elvis), South Brook, NL, Danny Shiner (Penny), Cap-Pele, NB, Donald Shiner (Sylvie), Cap-Pele, NB and Delores Penney (Kenny), Smith’s Harbour, NL; grandchildren - Justin, Robbie, Victor and Hunter; brother - Tony Shiner (Roxanne); siblings-in-law - Clayton Young, David Young (Ethel), James Young, Nina Janes (Raymond), Geddis Young (Ivy), Mabel Toms, Ron Young (Florence), Bessie Welshman (Malcolm) and Gerald Young (Trudy) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and innumerable friends.

Special thanks extended to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care Centre, the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre and the Health Sciences Centre for their tender care. Also, a very special thanks to Rodman's grandson Justin and his girlfriend Kayla for being there for him when the rest of the family could not be.

Pastor Craig Lane conducted the Funeral Service from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Sunday, November 17th, 2019 at 2:00PM. Interment followed from Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Smith’s Harbour, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Rodman’s memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, Newfoundland & Labrador Division, 1037 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 5E9.

“And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight; the clouds be rolled back as a scroll. The trump shall resound! The Lord shall descend! Even so, it is well with my soul.”

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
