It is with broken hearts, yet joyful anticipation, that the family of the late Willie George Rodgers announces his passing. Willie slipped peacefully into the presence of the Lord from the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 at the age of 81 years.
Willie is predeceased by children - Jimmy Donald and Sharon Gaye; grandson – Joshua; great-grandson - Daniel Levi; parents - James and Bertha Rodgers; foster parents - James and Suzie Lush; foster siblings - Rowena “Rowie ”, Dulcie, Joseph “Joe”, Albert “Alb”, William “Bill”, Lulu.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his wife of 61 years, Maisie; children - Bessie (David), Philip (Diana), Dale (Almo), Raymond (Anita), Angela (Tomas), Terry (Tammy), Pamela (Gregory “Craig”), Tony (Darlene), Farrah (Scott); sisters - Ruby (Mark), Agnes, Lillian (Ron) and brothers John, and Dwight (Marie); grandchildren - Donald (April), Julia (Lance), Priscilla, Kala, Faye, April, Phenix, Mazlin, Luke, Dana, Jenny (Mike), Joni (Peter), Daniel (Cassandra), Erica (Jarvis), Amina, Steven, Sevannah, Wendy, (Jeremy), Nigel (Ashley), Kayla (Robert), Matthew, Nicholas (Amanda), Nichole (Gregory), Noah (Victoria), Nelson (Julia), Samuel, Alex; great-grandchildren - Dante, Mandy, Elizabeth, David, Jonah, Lexie, Calli, Tyrone, Winston, Jace, Shannae, Travis Willie, Ethan, Whitney, Kate, Serivia, Olivia, Avery, Madison, Maggie, Alexander, Colton, Kaden, Jackson, Leah, Brooklyn, Ian, Deegan, Fallyn, and Liam, along with a large, loving family and extended foster family, he had many special friendships throughout the community, all whom are remembered warmly at this time.
Pastors Wayne & Joy Baker, assisted by Pastor Carter Harris conducted Willie's Home-Going Celebration Service from Maranatha Pentecostal Tabernacle, Triton, NL on Sunday, September 30th, 2018. Interment followed from the Triton Evergreen Cemetery, Head's Harbour.
